Soul Quest - Part 2

Dear readers,

I would like to share the 2nd part of my story called 'Soul Quest':

After almost getting crushed by a a huge metal cylinder falling from a construction site, Amarra fell on the ground completely stunned by what was a happening before her.  In front of her stood a boy whose back was facing her.  The boy was surrounded by a blue sphere of light from which yellow, green and purple flames were emanating.  With the help of that light barrier, the boy repelled the heavy metal cylinder with much ease.  Amarra felt like she was watching a scene from a movie playing right in front of her eyes.

While Amarra was wondering who that mysterious boy could be; a large winged creature hovered above them, holding a red crystal ellipse between it's pincer shaped mouth.  With a shocked expression on her face, Amarra gasped in horror: ''What the heck is that thing in the sky?! ''

Just then, the mysterious boy turns to Amarra and extends his hand to her, saying:

Even more surprised by the new revelation, Amarra exclaims:

Not giving Amarra the time to comprehend what was happening, Kai Shin took a rapid glance at the monster in the sky and with a frown on his face replied: 'They have found us, it's too dangerous to stay here...

Realizing that the flying monster has gathered enough power to shoot a laser beam at Amarra once again, Kai immediately grabs hold of Amarra's hand to pull her out of the way.  Both Amarra and Kai start running for their lives.  Feeling completely bewildered by what was happening to her, Amarra can't help but ask herself if this is all just a nightmare she is having right now.

Refusing to believe that what was happening was real, Amarra slowed down then closed her eyes and told herself that this was all a bad dream from which she will be waking up soon.

Just when Amarra opened her eyes again, the monster shot out another full laser blast directly at them. Eyes wide open, Amarra watched the laser beam as it was inevitably going to hit her in a split second. She felt like she saw her whole life flash by and even heard a soft female voice calling her name warmly.  Amarra thought: 'Could this be my mother's voice... will I meet her now...'

With remarkable dexterity and speed, Kai Shin rushed in front of Amarra to block the laser beam which was only a few inches away.  He summoned a barrier of blue light again to shield them from the monster's attack.  Kai then told Amarra that she was not dreaming because all that was happening is real.  His eyes full of determination, Kai maintained the light shield for as long as the intensity of the monster's laser beam persisted.  He was prepared to resist and kept his defense stance, knowing that he could not afford to succumb until that ruthless monster ceased fire.
