Deceived...Prejudiced...Biased...Misconceptions....and somehow the 'World'

Hi World

I know you're suffering everyday.  I know you still thrive on everyday.  I know people fail to understand you all the time and you get hurt because of it.
But World, please don't give up on us humans because if you do then even humans will give up on each other... :( As sad as this may sound, it is true.
So World, please remain strong and beautiful as you have always been for all these 4.54 billion years.

World, since the day you were born, you have probably heard, seen and experienced so many stories and events that nothing can surprise you anymore.  I hope you're not too bored, although you probably are...after existing for so long...

If you had a human form, I wonder what you would say to us...
Would you scorn us, curse us, scold us, mock us, hate us?
You probably would...

But you must also admit that humans have done some good things among the many wrongs they have committed.  I can't really cite any of the good things right now,,,but surely there are a few of them...
I know I don't have the right to say this, but please remain merciful towards us because 'World' we do love you.  Also throughout those 4.54 billion years, I am sure you witnessed the many sufferings that humans went through and you must have shed some tears for us as well...
So 'World' please believe us when we say we love you because you are the most wonderful home for us and we thank you everyday for giving us food on our table and resources to survive.
So please World, keep on surviving along with us.

Alright coming back to the title of this post...I was actually not planning to write about the 'World' but to rant about something that really pissed me off today...but I  don't know why I just started this post by writing about the 'World'...I'm weird...I don't understand myself sometimes...

Anyway I'm unhappy today because I just got my ideals of someone close to me crushed...I had so much esteem for that person that the latter was somehow my role model & my driving force to achieve excellent results during high school...but today something he said to me just made me realize that he really does not value me at all...and I simply felt hurt by that realization...the hurt grew more and more & I feel like the only relief I could get would be by hitting him hard in the face...you know like in those dramas where the character imagines himself / herself giving a good beating to a character that they hate...

It's amazing how esteem can turn to hate in a matter of minutes...
Anyway, I don't know if his words were sincere, subconsciously sincere or just careless but still they really hurt me to the point that I hate his guts right now...

So to forget the unpleasant feeling of 'hate', I am just going to think about the pain that the 'World' has to go through with the 7 billion of humans it has to bear with every single minute and second of everyday.

Note: To have a more exact value of the world population, you can click on the following link...Don't worry it won't bite, you can click on it ^^''

Current World population

If you have checked the link, you'll find those figures crazy, right?!  I don't think it is completely accurate but still what those numbers represent is quite creepy when you think about it...
We are just like little numbers that appear or disappear in a matter of seconds...
So for the 'World' we are probably just 1 among the 7 billion others...but for each other humans are we just 1 among the 7 billion others...? Hum Good question.
Well for some people you might just be that 1 among the 7 billion others so you can also be called a 'Stranger' but for others such your parents or your friends or your lover you are much much much more more more that just 1 among the 7 billion others.

Alright let me finish this blog with a drawing of the World if it had an anime form ^^''

All rights reserved © Alice Chronicle
I think I'll call this character Terra...I'm not sure if it's a male or a female...but it does have a feminine appearance...

Maybe I can create a story out of Terra...I'm starting to get ideas of a story now...If Terra is the human form of the World then I am sure it would have millions of stories to tell us about...l'll have to think about it...

After I  finished drawing Terra, I realized that it lacks 'green' ^^''  I should have included more green in the coloring...also it's skin is all blue like an alien or a smurf...but as it is the World and not a human, I could not give it yellow or black or white skin like humans... you see ^^''

I won't say the drawing is a state of the art but it's not that crappy or lame as well, right?! ^^'' right"?! Or maybe it is lame... :(

Anyway if I have time to work on the story 'Terra' then maybe I'll redesign him/her prettier next time.

It's already late now.

Bye Bye

See you for another post.

Chinese Drama: 'Ming Yang Hua Gu' / 名扬花鼓 - Part 7

Dear Readers

Welcome back to Alice Chronicle for the recap of the Episode 32 of the Chinese drama 'Ming Yang Hua Gu'.

In episode 32, Xiao Zhu is trying to run away from Ming Yang's house before the King can meet him there.  However, just as Xiao Zhu was about to leave through the back door, Ming Yang's father comes in and asks him to follow him back inside to wait for the King's arrival.  Xiao Zhu is left with no excuse and has no choice but to meet the King.

The King is surprised to see Xiao Zhu and can't hide the smirk on his face just before standing up.

Ming Yang's father gestures Xiao Zhu to salute the King but he remains standing still in front of the King.

In fact it is the King who kneels down in front of Xiao Zhu to salute him..

Everyone in the room is surprised by the turn of events.

Xiao Zhu calmly takes the seat of the King while the latter stands next to him...

Me: Ok their monarchy / hierarchy is a bit complicated for me to understand...but what I understood here is that the King dressed in yellow robes on the left of the picture is a lower ranking king compared to Xiao Zhu who is like the direct successor to the Emperor or something like that...So Xiao Zhu is higher ranking than the king (dressed in yellow robes).
In fact, Xiao Zhu calls the King his uncle.

The King persists with Xiao Zhu that he has to return to the palace for his own safety.
Xiao Zhu refuses at first but the King manages to convince him to return back home.

Xiao Zhu speaks to Hua Gu privately before leaving.

He warns her of the possible dangers she might face in the palace but does not tell her clearly what he means by that.

Xiao Zhu tells her that many heads will fall because of her return to the palace.

He also asks her if she has ever thought about the reasons why she was driven out of the palace when she was a child in the first place.

Hua Gu does not understand him and it is already time for him to leave her to return to the palace.  Xiao Zhu gives Hua Gu one word of advice which is not to trust anything that they tell her in the palace.

However, just before leaving Xiao Zhu tells his uncle that he would like to bring Qing Er with him to the palace to help her recover her health.

Hua Gu and Ming Yang can't hide their happy smiles upon hearing the good news.

Xiao Zhu first asks Hua Gu and Ming Yang if they trust him to take Qing Er with him to the palace.

Both of them reply that they trust him and Qing Er thanks him for his kindness.

Xiao Zhu tells them that he is very thankful for the carefree days he spent with them and that he will miss those days which he will never be able to spend again.
As he leaves, just like a royalty would do, Xiao Zhu tells all of them to salute his leave.
At his words, all of them immediately drop to their knees to salute his leave.

Back to the palace, Xiao Zhu (I know he's the Emperor's successor, but I've gotten used to call him Xiao Zhu ^^'') tells his mother the Queen about his meeting with Hua Gu.  He tells her that Hua Gu is so kind that she never even questioned why her parents abandoned her when she was just a child and was even going to give her Princess identity to her best friend.

The Queen thinks back to her past memories of when she had just given birth to a baby.

The first question she asked after giving birth was whether the baby is a girl or a boy?

When the servant informed her that it was a girl, she felt sad.

Just then her older brother grabbed hold of the baby and told her that their future is doomed if people were to know that the baby is a girl.

But he has a plan to save the both of them and decides to get rid of the baby.

The queen left a bite mark on the baby girl's small chubby arm before asking her brother to take the baby and leave quickly.

Back to the present, the Queen tells her older brother to stop trying to harm Hua Gu.

However her brother replies that if Hua Gu is allowed in the palace then the both of them will be severely punished (possibly even killed).

The Queen then replies: 'If this happens then let me receive the punishment.  I cannot go on hurting a person born from my own flesh and blood.'

Her brother replies that it is too late and that their fate will not make much of difference based on her being alive or dead as she is not the only one involved in this treachery.

Meanwhile, Hua Gu is feeling gloomy after thinking back to what Xiao Zhu told her.

Worried about her, Ming Yang goes to see Hua Gu to ask her what Xiao Zhu told her that is weighing on her mind right now.

Hua Gu tells Ming Yang that before she only wished to see her mother and spend time with her like a daughter would.

But now, Xiao Zhu told her that her return to the palace would make her mother suffer along with many innocent people.

Ming Yang tells her that what happens within the palace walls is not as simple as she thought.

In fact, it is much more complicated and messed up than she thought.

Finally Ming Yang tells Hua Gu about a rumor going on the palace i.e. the Queen had given birth to a girl but in order to attain the position of  the queen, she switched the baby girl with a baby boy.

Hua Gu realizes that the baby boy is Xiao Zhu in this case.

Ming Yang tells Hua Gu that the reason why Xiao Zhu left the palace was probably because he did not want to die.
Also, the reason why there are assassins after Hua Gu is because someone from the palace wants her dead so that she cannot return to the palace to stir up trouble.

Hua Gu refuses to believe that her own mother would try to get rid of her and even if she did, Hua Gu does not want to get revenge on her or harm her.

Ming Yang tells Hua Gu that it is too late to step back now and that there is someone in the palace who wants her dead (he is surely referring to her uncle - the queen's brother).

Hua Gu still refuses to do anything to hurt her mother.

Hua Gu tells Ming Yang that she can refuse to return to the palace and to just live freely.  This way the sin committed by her mother will not be revealed and she will remain safe.

Me: Hum It's only now that I'm starting to understand how complicated and twisted the story plot is...not bad...the base of the story is quite original and interesting now that I think about it

However, Ming Yang tells Hua Gu that the King will not let her or her mother go so easily as he will insist on continuing the investigation to bring out the truth and punish her mother for her mistake.

Hua Gu tells Ming Yang that the only thing she wanted was to spend time with her family but now such a simple wish has turned into such a complicated situation.

Hua Gu asks Ming Yang to allow her to meet her mother before she enters the palace.
Ming Yang nods as he agrees to help her with this.

The next day, Hua Gu meets her mother for the first time at a temple.  The latter is not aware that she is Hua Gu.

Hua Gu starts the conversation with her by asking if she came to wish for peace in her family.

The Queen just tells Hua Gu that she seems to have a strong belief in the God of this temple.
She also asks Hua Gu what her wish to the God was.

Hua Gu replies that she wished that she can meet her family soon.

The Queen asks Hua Gu how come she was separated from her family when she looks so young.

Hua Gu replies that she was separated from her family at a very young age and does not know what her parents look like.
The Queen shakes her head sadly and tells Hua Gu that she is such a pitiful child.
She also asks Hua Gu how she managed to live so many years.
Hua Gu tells her that she lived with a theatrical troop and traveled all around the place with them.
The Queen still unsuspecting that Hua Gu is her daughter, asks her if it was hard living with the troop.
Hua Gu tells her that if she did not perform well then she would receive a beating, if she was sick, she could only endure it until she recovered and when there were festivals she had to perform to earn money for the troop.

The Queen tells Hua Gu that her own daughter must have lived the same difficult life as her.

The Queen adds that she has asked the God to allow her to meet her daughter soon and no matter what price she has to pay, she hopes that her daughter can live a happy & peaceful life.

Hua Gu then asks the Queen why she abandoned her daughter.

The Queen replies that it is a mistake which she made in the past but it's too late for her to regret it now.

She also tells Hua Gu that she left a bite mark on her daughter's arm so that when she grows up and sees the mark, she will always hate her mother.
The Queen says that if she had the chance to change the past, she would not commit the same mistake again.

The Queen then kneels down to bow & beg to the God to allow her to meet her daughter.

Hua Gu helps the Queen stand up again and tells her that seeing how sincere she is, the Gods will surely protect her.

The Queen then asks Hua Gu if she were in her daughter's position would she hate this kind of unscrupulous mother.

Hua Gu does not answer but runs out of the temple.

The Queen follows her outside and apologizes to her for asking her such a thing.

Hua Gu tells the Queen that she is fine and that she just didn't want to be seen in her highly emotional state.

The Queen gifts one of her hair pins to Hua Gu while telling her that she enjoyed chatting with her and felt like she was talking to her own daughter.

The Queen also adds that she cannot return back what she owes her daughter but by offering this hair pin to Hua Gu, her heart can feel a little better.

The Queen fixes the hair pin in Hua Gu's hair and cups her face gently in both hands then tells her that she is such a kind and pretty girl.

Hua Gu feels teary after hearing the Queen's words and turns away to hide her tears.
Realizing that the Queen is confused by her reaction, Hua Gu makes up the excuse that she is just feeling hungry because she did not eat in the morning.

Hua Gu gives the Queen some wild fruits to eat.  The Queen hesitates to eat the fruit at first but Hua Gu convinces her that it tastes very good.  The Queen is delighted by the taste of the fruit after taking one bite.  Hua Gu tells her that it is in fact not the food that tastes good but the relationship between people can make the food taste good.
Hua Gu adds that she is sure that the food her mother would prepare is the world's most delicious food.

Xiao Zhu arrives acting like he does not know Hua Gu and tells his mother the Queen that it is time to return back home.
Just as Xiao Zhu and the Queen have turned their backs to leave, Hua Gu can't help but call out the word 'mother'.
This episode ends with the two of them turning back to look at Hua Gu in shock.

In the next episode i.e. episode 33,

After Hua Gu called for her mother, the Queen turned around in surprise to approach her and check if she has heard correctly.

But Hua Gu just tells the Queen that she is a caring mother so she is certain that her daughter will not hold a grudge against her.

Hua Gu tells her not to feel sad because of this issue.

The Queen finally smiles at Hua Gu and thanks her for caring about her.

The Queen then turned around to leave while being accompanied by Xiao Zhu.

After the Queen left, Ming Yang comes to see if Hua Gu is alright.

Hua Gu can't hold back her tears anymore and walks towards Ming Yang to hug him for comfort.

Ming Yang tells Hua Gu not to cry because she finally made her wish come true after meeting her mother.

(Me: That was such a short lived happiness though...sadly for Hua Gu, she cannot reunite with her mother again... :(

Ming Yang tells Hua Gu to cheer up but the latter can only keep on crying from her heartache.

Ok now me move on to the palace, where Xiao Zhu is having a walk with the Emperor who is in fact his grandfather.

The Emperor tells Xiao Zhu that he felt lonely when he was not in the palace for a few days.

Xiao Zhu feels happy hearing this and replies that he will become a good man to make his grandfather proud of him.

They start playing a board game which is interrupted by a messenger who announces the

arrival of the King (who is in fact the grandfather's son and also Xiao Zhu's uncle).

Sitting on his throne, the Emperor meets his son (the King) accompanied by Ming Yang.  The Queen (Hua Gu's mother, Xiao Zhu and the Queen's older brother are also present in the hall.

The Emperor asks his son if he has found the Princess.

The King replies that they have successfully found the Princess who is now waiting outside.

The Kind nods with satisfaction and asks them to bring the Princess inside.

Ming Yang goes outside the room to get Hua Gu to come inside.

Hua Gu kneels down to bow at the Emperor.

The latter asks her to lift her head so that he an see her face clearly.

(Me: I wonder if this is all just a dream that Xiao Zhu is having...??)

The Emperor asks Hua Gu how does she know she is the Princess.

Hua Gu answers that she only knows that just like the Princess she is called Hua Gu and that she was brought up in a theatrical troop.

The King assures the Emperor that Hua Gu is the Princess.

The Emperor then asks the King: 'In this case, do you mean that the child that the Queen gave birth to at that time was not the Prince Yu Wen (i.e. Xiao Zhu) but was this girl Hua Gu standing in front of me?'

(Me: The situation is very risky right now...it's either the king who will get punished if he cannot prove his statement or the Queen, Xiao Zhu and the Queen's brother for having hidden the truth to the Emperor for so long.)

The Emperor asks the King what evidence he has to prove that Hua Gu is really the Princess.

The King replies that apart from the court lady Yu who has died, he does not have any other witness to prove Hua Gu's identity.

The King tells the Emperor that Hua Gu had in possession the jewel of a royalty i.e. the Queen's jewel since she was a child.  This means that the Queen threw away a child of her own flesh to adopt a boy from another family.

The Emperor asks the Queen if what the King (probably her brother-in-law) said is the truth.

Just then, Hua Gu falls onto her knees to tell the King that it is all her plan and that the Queen is not concerned about this.

Upon hearing Hua Gu's words, Ming Yang is shocked while the King tells her not to say any more words.

(Me: I know Hua Gu is trying to save her mother, but in doing so she might be stirring up other troubles... -___-  she might even risks her life and that of others by doing this or she might be sent to prison...because lying to the Emperor might a big crime at that time...let's see what'll happen...)

Hua Gu continues by saying that she lived a life of poverty in the theatrical group so she used this opportunity to disguise herself as the Princess to escape that life.
The King tells the Emperor that Hua Gu is lying but the latter persists that she is telling the truth.
The Emperor then asks Hua Gu why she is confessing all this only now.
Hua Gu replies that it is only after meeting the Emperor that she realized it was wrong and decided to confess.  The Emperor demands harshly Hua Gu: 'Aren't you scared to die?!'

The Queen finally speaks up and asks the Emperor for forgiveness.

She admits that she asked a court lady to take the baby girl to a theatrical troop at that time.

The Emperor is outraged and exclaims: 'How dare you commit such an awful deed?!'

The Queen replies that she recognizes the girl in front of her as the daughter she abandoned years ago.

Hua Gu exclaims that she is not her daughter and tells the Queen that she does not have to defend her.  The Emperor asks for silence and summarizes the discussion so far whereby the Queen is saying that Hua Gu is of royal blood while Hua Gu will not admit it.

The Emperor asks again which of them is tricking him.

The Queen answers that she would not dare trick him and states that at the time she abandoned her child, she left a bite mark on her arm so Hua Gu should still have it on her arm.

The Emperor asks Hua Gu to lift her sleeves to show everybody her arm.

Just before doing so Hua Gu tells Ming Yang who has kneeling next to her all this time that she is sorry.

Hua Gu finally lifts her arm with her sleeves lowered but there is no bite mark on it.  The Queen exclaims in surprise: 'How come the bite mark disappeared!?'

The Emperor replies that he had heard of the rumor of the baby which was abandoned long time ago but now he knows it is not true thus Hua Gu should suffer death.

The Emperor calls the guards to take Hua Gu away.  Both Ming Yang and Hua Gu can't hide their shocked expressions.

Me: Hum this time Hua Gu is playing with fire with her lies and she is going to suffer severe punishment for it... when will she learn to stop creating such reckless and dumb situations...

Later Ming Yang requests to meet the Emperor by the latter tells the messenger to inform him that he is feeling tired and will meet him another day.

After learning about what happened, Qing Er tells Ming Yang that Hua Gu is really the Princess because on her left arm there really was
a deep bite mark.

Qing Er affirms that she saw the bite mark when she went to the bathhouse with Hua Gu.

Ming Yang replies that Hua Gu purposely got rid of the bite mark in order to save her mother.

(Me: Well too bad they didn't have DNA tests at that time to check if Hua Gu and the Queen's DNA matched...)

Ming Yang tells Qing Er that he regrets bringing Hua Gu to the Palace.
Qing Er asks Ming Yang why he doesn't speak to the Emperor but Ming Yang tells her that the Emperor refuses to meet him.
Qing Er asks Xiao Zhu for help but the latter replies that it is too difficult for him.
She accuses him of not saying anything because he'll be the one to die instead of Hua Gu if he says the truth.
Qing Er tells Xiao Zhu angrily: 'If the Emperor knows that you are his fake grandson then why would he send Hua Gu to be killed.'
Qing Er blames Xiao Zhu for what is happening to Hua Gu.
Ming Yang asks her to calm down and tells her that it is not Xiao Zhu's fault.

Meanwhile, the Queen goes to visit Hua Gu in the prison.

The Queen turns Hua Gu's arm to take a look at it to find that the skin has been peeled off where the bite mark was supposed to be.

The Queen asks her why she did such a stupid thing then starts putting ointment and bandaging the wound.

The Queen cries while apologizing to Hua Gu for making her live through so many hardships.

Hua Gu replies that the Queen is not to be blamed for her own misfortunes and that since she is not her daughter, she does not have to take any responsibility for her.
The Queen blames herself for her weakness in having made such a bad decision which is now having a big repercussion.
Hua Gu tells her that she is sure that her daughter does not blame her at all.
The Queen tells Hua Gu that she cannot die and that the person who should die is herself for her wrongdoing.
Hua Gu replies with a smile that by giving her life she will be able to save many other unlucky people.

Later, the Queen goes to meet the Emperor to tell him that Hua Gu is refusing to admit that she is the Princess because she wants to protect her mother.

The Emperor then asks her if she is really willing to die to protect Hua Gu.  The Queen replies that she is not afraid of death and even tries to kill herself in front of the Emperor by taking off one of her hair pins to stab herself.  Fortunately the Emperor stops her from causing even more trouble and exclaims that he is the one to decide if he wants her alive or dead.

Moving back to Hua Gu, Ming Yang comes to visit her in the prison cell.

He came to dress her wound too, but Hua Gu shows him that her arm has already been bandaged.

Ming Yang asks her if it is the Queen who bandaged it and Hua Gu nods.

Hua Gu tells Ming Yang that she hopes her understands her decision and that she is really sorry.

Hua Gu hugs him and he hugs her back.
Ming Yang tells Hua Gu that no matter what decision she makes, he will be by her side to support her and he does not want to hear her say that she is sorry.

Ming Yang adds that everybody will die one day but only smart people will live everyday of their lives happily.

He then asks Hua Gu if she is one of those smart people.  Hua Gu nods and tells him although she doesn't have many days left, she'll live every remaining days happily so that she does not waste any of them.

With teary eyes and a slight smile, Ming Yang tells her that when she smiles she looks really pretty and makes his heart feel comfortable.  He also brought her favorite food for her to eat.

Ming Yang asks her to smile at him before eating.
Hua Gu smiles brightly and tells him that no matter what the situation is like, she will smile for him.

This episode ends on a somehow sad note, with Hua Gu's imprisonment and nearing death sentence.

Alright, bye for now.

Chinese Drama: 'Ming Yang Hua Gu' / 名扬花鼓 - Part 6

Dear Readers

Coming back to the drama recap for 'Ming Yang Hua Gu', we've now reached episode 29.
In this episode I skipped the beginning 22 mins to reach the part where there is Ming Yang and Hua Gu (I know I am biased for these characters, but what to do...the other characters don't interest me much and I've seen this drama when I was a kid anyway... ^^'' hahaha)

Qing Er is feeling better after taking the medicine prepared by Xiao Zhu.
Xiao Zhu happily blurts out that for his first time preparing medicine, it's a success.
Upon hearing Xiao Zhu's words, Hua Gu gets mad and starts chasing him around asking how come it's his first time when he said that he studied a lot of medical books.
Xiao Zhu replies that he might have studied a lot but he didn't practice what he learnt.
Qing Er defends Xiao Zhu by telling Hua Gu that his medicine is taking effect.

Looks like Xiao Zhu is the new comic relief of the drama instead of Hua Gu and Ming Yang whose relationship has become too tensed lately.
Xiao Zhu entertains the group by performing a small magic trick in which he makes flowers appear from a silk handkerchief.

Xiao Zhu then offers the flowers to Qing Er and tells her that he hopes her life will become as bright as the flowers.

Hua Gu asked Xiao Zhu if he can make other objects appear apart from the flowers.

Xiao Zhu replies that he can, then starts the handkerchief trick again to make a little bird appear.

Both Ming Yang and Hua Gu are in awe as they watch Xiao Zhu's little magic show XD.

Hua Gu & Qing Er ask Xiao Zhu to teach them the magic trick.

Xiao Zhu readily agrees to teach them.

Seeing that Qing Er has recovered a lot, Ming Yang decides that it is time to set off again towards the Capital city.
However both Xiao Zhu and Hua Gu decide to delay the departure by making the excuse that Qing Er might get unwell again because of the long journey ahead.

Xiao Zhu tells them that they should stop by Yun Nan where there is a great doctor who can cure Qing Er's sickness.

But despite the excuses they make, Ming Zhu Er and the guards press Hua Gu to return to the palace in the city because it is unsafe for her to be still travelling.

Even Qing Er convinces Hua Gu to return to the palace to meet her parents and even tells her that she cannot delay her marriage to Ming Zhu Er anymore.  Ming Zhu Er can't hide his smile after hearing Qing Er says this to Hua Gu.

This is the reason why Hua Gu doesn't want to return to the palace...How can Qing Er not realize that her best friend does not love Ming Zhu Er....?

Hua Gu looks at Ming Yang again for him to say something about the marriage issue probably but the later averts his eyes away...

(Me:  Ming Yang !! When are you going to reveal your true feelings!?  You are just hurting the girl you like by remaining quiet about it... :(

Fortunately, Ming Yang finds an alternative to their disagreement and tells Hua Gu that the guards and him will take her to the palace and Ming Zhu Er can accompany Qing Er and Xiao Zhu to see the doctor in Yun Nan.

Unhappy, Ming Zhu Er has no choice but to agree to Ming Yang's plan while both Xiao Zhu and Hua Gu can't help but hide their smile of relief.

However, later Ming Zhu Er tells Ming Yang privately that he is unhappy that he is separating Hua Gu from him when she is is future bride.  Ming Yang tells him with a cunning smile that he is doing this because he has a plan to find the spy among them.

In the evening, Hua Gu reveals her true feelings to Qing Er.

Hua Gu tells Qing Er she knows that Ming Zhu Er treats her very well but no matter how many times she asks herself if she really wants to spend her whole life with him, the answer is still no.

Qing Er asks her then why did she agree to marry him on that day.

Hua Gu replies that at that time she just said yes without thinking.

Qing Er tells her that if she does not like Ming Zhu Er then she should tell him the truth.  Hua Gu replies that Ming Zhu Er has risked his life to protect her so she could not tell him that she wants to cancel the marriage.

Hua Gu does not dare to tell Ming Zhu Er her true feelings because she does not want to hurt him.

Qing Er decides to help her friend by going to see Ming Zhu Er personally to tell him that Hua Gu's feelings for him are not like what he thinks.
Clenching his fists tightly, Ming Zhu Er simply asks Qing Er if what she is telling him was what Hua Gu said.

The next day, Ming Yang is acting according to his plan whereby Qing Er will come with him in the carriage without the guards knowing.  Then if the plan goes well, when the traitor makes his appearance to attack the Princess, he will be facing Qing Er instead of Hua Gu.

Now we have reached Episode 30.

Ming Yang has stopped the carriage to allow the soldiers to rest for a while.  The soldiers find it strange that Ming Yang is the only one guarding the carriage closely and will not allow any soldiers to approach the Princess.  Some soldiers start suspecting that Ming Yang wants to take all the glory of protecting the Princess for himself.  While other soldiers think that Ming Yang is just being highly cautious as they are slowly approaching the City.

On the other hand, Ming Yang remains on his guard as thinks that during the break he is giving the guards, the traitor will surely strike.

Hua Gu who is still at the hostel is angry that they are using Qing Er as a bait for the traitor among the guards.

She also feels very uncomfortable being alone with Ming Zhu Er who does not miss the chance to remind her that they are alone together.

Hua Gu tells him that she would like to be alone for a while but Ming Zhu Er takes hold of her hands and asks her if she is mad at him.

Xiao Zhu who passed by immediately comes in to break the awkwardness.

Hua Gu feels relieved to see Xiao Zhu as she cannot stand being alone with Ming Zhu Er.
Xiao Zhu and Hua Gu wittily make an excuse to leave the room to put some distance between Ming Zhu Er and Hua Gu.

Returning back to Ming Yang and Qing Er's situation; it seems that indeed there is a traitor among them as someone has lighted a fire near the region where they were resting.  The enemies start to attack Ming Yang and his troop.  Suddenly one of Ming Yang's own soldiers heads towards the carriage and stabs his spear into the front of the carriage.  But Qing Er being a martial artist blocks the spear and pushes it back causing the soldier to fall down.  The soldier is surprised to see Qing Er there instead of Hua Gu.  Now Ming Yang knows who the spy among them is.  Ming Yang rapidly rushes to Qing Er's help as she cannot handle fighting with the traitor any longer.

(Me:  Sorry I can't post pictures for the fight scene because the quality of the video images is not too good)

After Ming Yang neutralizes the enemy, he heads towards Qing Er to ask if she is alright.

Fortunately Qing Er is fine.

Ming Yang is glad that they found the culprit among his troop.
His plan was a success.

Moving back to Hua Gu's situation at the hostel.

Ming Zhu Er invites Hua Gu to go for a walk with him.  But Hua Gu is hesitant and says that she is not supposed to go out for her own security.

Ming Zhu Er tells her that she will be safe as long as he is with her.

Hua Gu still replies that she prefers to wait for Qing Er and the others to return first.

But Ming Zhu Er is insistent and tells Hua Gu that they can go out not too far away from the hostel to wait for Qing Er to return.

Hua Gu accepts to go with MIng Zhu Er on the condition that they take her horse with them.

Ming Zhu Er accepts and they set off while Xiao Zhu looks worriedly at the two of them leave.

Xiao Zhu can't help but feel that something is not right and decides to follow them.

At first feeling uncomfortable for following them during their date, Xiao Zhu thinks maybe he should leave the two of them on their own.

But after thinking again about Ming Yang telling him to look after the Princess; Xiao Zhu decides to remain in hiding to spy on them.

Effectively, Xiao Zhu's suspicions about Ming Zhu Er being a bad person turn out to be true as the latter suddenly grabs hold of Hua Gu and presses a piece of cloth (probably dabbed in chloroform or something like that) forcefully on her mouth & nose area.

Hua Gu manages to push Ming Zhu Er away with much difficulty but she starts feeling dizzy as she makes her way away from him.

Xiao Zhu tries to defend Hua Gu but gets knocked out by Ming Zhu Er.

Ming Zhu Er catches up to Hua Gu who has only just reached her horse's side.

Ming Zhu tells Hua Gu with a crazy look on his face that he did so much for her so how could she not love him back.

He also tells her that she will stay with him forever so he will not allow anyone to separate them.

Not fully in control of her senses, Hua Gu is powerless as Ming Zhu Er grabs hold of her and pulls her onto the horse.

(Me: Darn ! Ming Zhu Er has gone completely Psycho.
If the girl doesn't like you just curse her and leave her to look for someone better; you don't have to go to such lengths.  The situation will just worsen in this case...)

Even the horse refuses to move when Ming Zhu Er kicks its sides.
But Ming Zhu Er forces the horse to start running by cruelly stabbing its side with a small knife.
Xiao Zhu falls down unconscious after trying to chase after them.

Ming Yang and his troop are making their way back to the hostel.

Ming Yang starts to have a strange feeling that's something is wrong.

Qing Er suddenly asks Ming Yang not to worry about her and to travel faster because Hua Gu will be worrying sick back at the hostel.

Qing Er then suggests that Ming Yang goes ahead first to check if Hua Gu is safe.

Ming Yang hesitates as he does not want to leave Qing Er alone.

But the guards tell him that he does not have to worry about her as they will ensure her protection.

Finally convinced by the guards, Ming Yang gets on a horse and rides at full speed to return back to the hostel.

Ming Yang covers a long way on horseback and it's already night time.

The weather is bad as lightning & thunder keep on striking.

Ming Yang suddenly halts the horse as he sees someone lying on the ground in front of him.

Ming Yang helps the person up and realizes that it is Xiao Zhu.

Xiao Zhu tells him to save Hua Gu because she is in danger and that Ming Zhu Er has taken her away.

Ming Yang immediately sets off on horseback again to look for Hua Gu.

He is really worried and keeps begging his brother in his mind not to hurt Hua Gu.

Ming Yang is desperately thinking where his brother could have taken Hua Gu.

Meanwhile, Ming Zhu Er has brought semi-conscious Hua Gu to an old abandoned house.

Ming Zhu Er tells Hua Gu that tonight she will become her bride and starts caressing her face while she is in a defenseless state.

Hua Gu's sight is all blurry and she is feeling very weak as she has been drugged by Ming Zhu Er.

The latter is laughing hysterically as he tells Hua Gu that Ming Yang will not be able to take her away from him.

Ming Zhu Er starts sliding Hua Gu's sleeve off her shoulder while Hua Gu can only murmur: 'No don't...no don't...Ming Yang come save me quick...save me.'

Lightning strikes again and Ming Zhu Er catches sight of the statue of a god in a corner of the old shed.

But an evil gleam still flashes in his eyes as he tells Hua Gu that the gods will witness the two of them becoming husband & wife.

(Me: Holy crap, the guy is a complete psycho... o__O)

Finally Ming Yang notices Hua Gu's horse near the shed and heads towards it.

Ming Zhu Er tells Hua Gu that she belongs to him and she does not need to be scared.

Just as he finishes his sentence, Ming Yang comes in and calls his brother.

Hearing Ming Yang's voice, Hua Gu gathers her strength to get up slowly and walks towards Ming Yang.

(Me: Aaaawww this scene is so sweet as Hua Gu rushes into Ming Yang's arms and the latter automatically hugs her tightly to comfort her)

Ming Yang hugs Hua Gu tightly as if telling her she'll be alright now because he's here with her.

Me: I totally ship this couple XD

They are so cute together ^^

Finally, Ming Yang realizes that his brother is not the nice guy he thought he was.

Me: Idiot Ming Yang, how could you leave the girl you like in the hands of that bastard.

Anyway, Ming Yang and Hua Gu can finally be together now ^^ Hopefully...

Coming back to the story, Ming Zhu Er has the guts to tell Ming Yang to let go of Hua Gu because she is his wife.

Ming Yang glares at his brother and tells him: 'Brother how could you do something so low to hurt her?'

Ming Yang then shakes his head at his brother and turns away to leave with Hua Gu.

Hua Gu leans against Ming Yang's back as they ride the horse back to the hostel.

Both of them remain silent as the horse moves in slow strides.

Ming Yang feels guilty and thinks to himself that he is really sorry for what happened to Hua Gu but he doesn't know what he should do now.

He says sorry twice to Hua Gu in his mind but does not utter the words for her to hear as she is asleep.

Me: This episode was quite intense...
It's fortunate that Ming Yang arrived on time to save Hua Gu from that psycho... -___-

Ming Yang is after all Hua Gu's one true love.
He is the one who really loves her and cares about her.
Moreover, Ming Yang is a really nice guy unlike his psychotic half-brother.
At least now Ming Yang knows his brother's true colors and won't trust him anymore.

Back to her room, Hua Gu is still in shock from what happened.  Qing Er comes in to give her some medicinal soup to drink to calm her down and tells Hua Gu that everything is fine now and to forget about what happened.

Suddenly MIng Zhu Er comes knocking on the door calling for Hua Gu to let him come in because he has something to tell her.

He keeps on knocking on the door calling for her and won't go so Hua Gu tells Qing Er to let him in.

Qing Er is hesitant to open the door for him but Hua Gu nods to tell her that it's fine to do so.

Ming Zhu Er rushes in the room to Hua Gu's side to grab hold of her hands.

Ming Zhu Er tells Hua Gu he did wrong and that he had lost his mind.

Hua Gu gets up from the bed and with her back facing Ming Zhu Er, she tells him that she is the one who lost her mind.

Hua Gu continues: 'I should have told you much earlier that I cannot marry you and the person I like was always Ming Yang.'

Qing Er is astonished on hearing this revelation. While Ming Zhu Er shouts at Hua Gu angrily that she finally admitted her relationship with Ming Yang and leaves the room furiously.

Ming Zhu Er rushes into the forest and is approached by Ming Yang who tells him it's all a misunderstanding.

But Ming Zhu Er exclaims furiously: 'Are you following me to watch my miserable self and to look down on me?! This is not a misunderstanding ! Hua Gu hates me because of you.  From the beginning you did your best to separate me and Hua Gu!'

Ming Yang replies: 'I didn't intend to do that Brother.'
Ming Zhu Er tells him furiously not to call him Brother anymore because he does not want a younger brother like him.

Me: Why have the tables turned suddenly !? Ming Yang has turned into the villain out of the blue and Ming Zhu Er is acting like the victim here...Come on! Does this even make sense...?
Ming Zhu Er is definitely no saint.  He should be the one feeling guilty right now... because love cannot be forced.  He needs to accept that Hua Gu does not love him and stop blaming Ming Yang for the feelings that Hua Gu cannot return him.

Ming Zhu Er insults Ming Yang before leaving him.  Ming Yang's eyes well up in tears as he is deeply hurt by his brother's words.

Image stills of softhearted Ming Yang's teary eyes (Great acting ^^)
Me: It's unfair for Ming Zhu Er to insult Ming Yang like that when he did his best to disregard his feelings for Hua Gu to allow her to marry his older brother.  He even acted as a douche to Hua Gu when he knew that she had feelings for him which was not necessarily the right thing to do but still he did repress his feelings to make his brother happy.

Ming Yang returns to the hostel feeling depressed as his brother's insulting words keep echoing in his mind.
Seeing Ming Yang all gloomy, Xiao Zhu approaches him to tell him that this is not where he should be right now.

Ming Yang then gloomily asks Xiao Zhu where he should be then.

Xiao Zhu tells him without hesitation that he should be looking for Hua Gu right now.

Xiao Zhu tells Ming Yang that Hua Gu needs him to care for her now because she is emotionally more hurt than what he imagines.

Ming Yang refuses to see Hua Gu by saying that it is already too late to disturb her.
Xiao Zhu offers him a cup of wine but Ming Yang declines it saying that wine will make him feel confused.
Xiao Zhu tells Ming Yang that he has already been acting all confused by forcing himself to do something he thought was right.
Xiao Zhu adds that running away is not the solution because running away from the persons he cares for will only hurt those persons and himself.
Ming Yang replies sternly that his duty is only to take the Princess safely back to the Palace.
Xiao Zhu tells Ming Yang that Hua Gu is braver than him since she honestly told Ming Zhu Er that she wants to cancel the marriage because the person she loves is Ming Yang.

Ming Yang (foolishly in my opinion) replies that Hua Gu should not have treated his brother like that.

Xiao Zhu tells Ming Yang: It's all nonsense ! Why won't you admit that you love each other mutually?! Are you waiting for Hua Gu to confess to you so that you'll tell her your feelings too?

Ming Yang replies that if he confesses that he loves Hua Gu then it will be unfair towards his brother.

The next day, Hua Gu and Ming Yang just ignore each other.
Ming Yang and his troop set off again for the Capital city with the real Princess accompanying them this time.
They chose not to wait for Ming Zhu Er to join them again as they are sure he won't return after having hurt his pride.

The group later stops to rest near a food stand.  Hua Gu gets out of the carriage but Ming Yang asks someone else to help her get down.

Annoyed, Hua Gu tells him that she can get down on her own.

Qing Er comes out of the carriage next and Ming Yang immediately gives her a hand to get down the carriage...

Me: Ming Yang is acting like such a douche right now...why does he have to treat Hua Gu go coldly... ?  Is this how you treat the girl you like!?

Qing Er later asks Hua Gu privately how come she is ignoring Ming Yang when they both love each other.  Hua Gu replies that she does not feel she has the right to talk to Ming Yang when Ming Zhu Er won't forgive her.  Qing Er then asks Hua Gu if she'll never talk to Ming Yang if Ming Zhu Er never forgives her.
Hua Gu tells Qing Er that Ming Yang probably feels the same way as her for having hurt Ming Zhu Er.

In fact Ming Zhu Er is looking at Hua Gu from afar but not daring to approach her.

We now move on to Episode 31:

Xiao Zhu decides to leave the group to go on his own way.

Hua Gu and the others are surprised that Xiao Zhu is leaving them because they expected that he would come with them to the Capital.

Hua Gu asks him why he doesn't want to come to the Capital with them.

Xiao Zhu replies that the environment in the Capital does not suit him.

Ming Yang joins Hua Gu to try to convince Xiao Zhu to come with them.

Ming Yang asks Xiao Zhu to stay with them to take care of Qing Er in case she falls ill again.

Qing Er looks down feeling sad as she is reminded that she can fall ill again.
Despite Ming Yang and Hua Gu's requests for Xiao Zhu to stay, Qing Er smiles and tells him not to worry about her and to feel free to go his way.

Hua Gu & Ming Yang are surprised by Qing Er's answer.

Qing Er adds that it will be God's will for her to live or die early so Xiao Zhu does not have to stay with her.

Xiao Zhu tells them that he is heading towards Yun Nan to look for that doctor who can cure Qing Er's illness.

Hearing his words, Hua Gu enthusiastically tells Xiao Zhu to find that doctor quickly.
Before leaving them, Xiao Zhu gives Qing Er a bottle of a precious medicine which she has to take twice daily to feel better.

After having lunch, Ming Yang and the others are also ready to leave when suddenly the table starts shaking as the ground carries the heavy and rapid hooves steps of horses galloping in their location.

Ming Yang immediately suspects that something is wrong and tells his guards to be careful and to prepare the carriage.

The owner of the food stand and the other helpers and customers are all actually assassins who start attacking Ming Yang and Hua Gu's bodyguards.

Hua Gu's guards are outnumbered and injured as well.

Qing Er is also fighting relentlessly to protect Hua Gu.

Ming Yang is already surrounded by the enemies.

More assassins come running to attack them.

Looks like Ming Yang let his guard down too soon.

While the guards are fighting, Ming Yang manages to take the two girls in the carriage away from the fight.

But Qing Er does not feel too well along the way and has to get down the carriage to breathe some fresh air.

The enemy spots them again and Ming Yang is the only one left to protect Hua Gu & Qing Er.

A few minutes later, the guards join the three of them but they are chased after by a bunch of villagers.

The guards are confused as they cannot differentiate between the real villagers and the assassins, since some of them are acting like innocent villagers but strike when they least expect it.

Ming Yang prefers to take the girls as far away from those people as possible.

Xiao Zhu comes back running to the village after finding a bunch of corpses of villagers in the nearby forest.

Meanwhile, Ming Yang and the girls have taken refuge in an old shed.

But they are surrounded by the enemies and there are only a few guards left to protect Hua Gu.

One of Hua Gu's guards is injured and cannot stand up.

The guards start to wonder how come the king has not sent his soldiers to help them yet when Ming Yang had already sent a pigeon messenger to the King to announce their arrival.

Ming Yang tells them that the enemy has already killed the pigeon he has sent before it even reached the King.

Suddenly, Ming Yang hears a bunch of villagers crying for help from outside.

Hua Gu tells Ming Yang to let them in to hide as well.  But Ming Yang refuses suspecting that it might be a trap.

Hua Gu pleads Ming Yang to open the door to let the innocent villagers inside but Ming Yang refuses vehemently.

Qing Er asks Hua Gu to listen to Ming Yang because it is too risky.

Meanwhile on the outside, the enemy has prepared firearms to attack them.

Just then, Xiao Zhu plays a trick on the enemy assassins by calling out 'Princess' come this way then letting go of a horse with a dummy on it to trick the enemy into believing that it is Hua Gu riding the horse.  Fooled by the trick, the enemies chase after the horse and leave the surroundings of the shed where Hua Gu and the others were hiding.

Unfortunately, the villagers who were acting innocent, start a fire around the shed made of wood and straw.  The shed catches fire rapidly and thick layers of smoke keep seeping into the shed making the air inside difficult to breathe.  Qing Er is not feeling well again after breathing in the smoke.

Hua Gu asks Ming Yang to allow them to go out now because Qing Er cannot bear it any longer.

Qing Er tells them to just leave her behind because she is just going to slow them down.

Hua Gu tells her not to say something like that anymore.

One of their guards proposes to carry Qing Er who has ran out of energy right now.

Ming Yang gives Hua Gu a coat to protect her from the flames.

As the fire is growing fiercer, the group has no choice but to rush outside the shed.

Outside, a group of villagers start attacking them.

Ming yang has no choice but to fight back.

Suddenly a little girl comes running amidst the group of people fighting.

Hua Gu naively rushes towards the little to protect her, but it is a trap as the little girl takes out a knife and throws it towards Hua Gu.

Ming Yang rapidly pushes Hua Gu aside and gets stabbed by the knife in his chest.

Ming Yang is badly hurt and starts bleeding from the knife wound.

Xiao Zhu who has seen them, tries to warn them that all the villagers are bad people and they must not trust anyone.

Suddenly, Ming Yang notices an enemy pointing a powder gun at them (Me: I can't believe powder guns existed at that time....^^'')

Immediately, Ming Yang pushes Hua Gu aside so that she does not get hit by the impact of the explosion from the powder gun.

The explosion creates a large screen of smoke which separates Ming Yang and the others just like magic... ^^'' (in my opinion)

Ming Yang is caught in a fight with an assassin while Hua Gu is faced by a group of other assassins.

Ming Yang cannot see Hua Gu but can only hear her calling him.

Hua Gu is in a perilous situation as she cannot fight back the assassins who are all pointing their swords and weapons at her.

(Me: Btw, I wonder if those assassins can even see through that black veil they are wearing over their heads... ^^'' hahaha just wondering...)

Luckily, Ming Zhu Er appears to save Hua Gu.

However, more assassins come rushing and Ming Zhu Er has no choice but to fight them back.

Ming Zhu Er successfully gets rid of all the assassins but his shoulder gets injured during hte fight.

After expressing some worry for Ming Zhu Er, Hua Gu immediately runs towards Ming Yang's direction as she hears the sword fight going on on his side.

Hua Gu tries to run towards Ming Yang but the latter yells at her to stay where she is and Ming Zhu Er holds her back.

(Me: Darn just stay far away from the fight Hua Gu...you're just going to hinder him)

Hua Gu desperately asks Ming Zhu Er to help Ming Yang and the latter finally agrees to her pleas.

With the help of Ming Zhu Er, Ming Yang manages to get rid of the assassin but he accidentally falls into the quicksands.

Stupidly, Hua Gu also follows Ming Yang and jumps into the quicksands as well....(Me: Seriously...couldn't you just stay out there to help Ming Yang out...Hua Gu acts too irrationally...she's only getting people around her into troubles...)

Lol even Ming Yang calls her stupid for jumping in as well XD
Hua Gu tells Ming Yang that if he is going to die, she prefers to die with him because she loves him.
Hearing Hua Gu's confession, Ming Yang's expression immediately softens up.

(Me: Ok it's really touching that she finally told him that she loves him. but Hello! quicksands is not the ideal location to confess to someone... ^^'' Seriously...)

While struggling not to sink completely into the quiksands, Hua Gu stretches her arm to grab hold of Ming Yang's hand.

Ming Yang asks Hua Gu again: 'How can you be so stupid?'

Hua Gu replies that to be together with him she is willing to die.

Then their couple song plays in the background to accompany their moment together. (The producer sure knows how to pull at our heartstrings ^^'')

While they continue to struggle not to sink further into the quicksands, Ming Yang tells Hua Gu with a big smile on his face, 'lets be together in our next life'.  Hua Gu agrees with him.
(Lol don't say such dramatic things with that big smile on your face :P

Finally Xiao Zhu and the other guards arrive to rescue them.

The two of them smile happily as Xiao Zhu and the guards pull them out of the quicksand with the help of a branch.

Just after they are pulled out of the mud, Ming Yang hugs Hua Gu tightly as they are now out of danger.

I don't really understand what happened, but suddenly Ming Yang and the others are back to his house.  They didn't show the part where Hua Gu meets her parents in the palace or maybe they haven't gone to the palace yet...  I didn't really get that part...

Anyway back to Ming Yang's house, he goes to see his mother who isn't feeling well because she was worried about her two sons.

Feeling guilty, Ming Yang asks his mother to forgive him for hurting her feelings but he cannot be separated from Hua Gu although he knows that his brother loves her too.

Ming Yang's mother replies that she understands him because she was young once too but she just feels sad for Ming Zhu Er who only wished to set up a happy family of his own.

Ming Yang promises his mother that he will find his brother and bring him back home.
But his mother tells him to wait until his wounds are better before doing anything rash because she does not want to lose another son.

On the other hand, Xiao Zhu is trying to run off again without anyone noticing.

Alright this is the end of episode 31.

See you next time for the recap of Episode 32.

This series is nearing its end soon so don't miss out on the last remaining recaps.

I have to admit that I was not very satisfied by the turn of events between Ming Yang and Hua Gu, it took too long according to me for them to finally be together...
I thought that after the episode in which Ming Zhu Er almost took advantage of Hua Gu, Ming Yang would have come to his senses to admit that he loves Hua Gu but no he still refused to admit it...and took his brother's side.
Anyway I should be happy now that they are finally together but it's only after Hua Gu confessed to Ming Yang...According to me the guy should have taken the first step...but he just didn't...That was lame...

I guess no drama is perfect, there will always be some parts which will not satisfy me...anyways the acting is still good and the story is nearing it's end, so lets enjoy the last few episodes before wrapping it up.

See ya

Bye Bye & Thanks for visiting
