Drama review of Doctor Stranger Ep17

The episode resumes where Park Hoon came in the surgery room to save the patient.
With Park Hoon's skills, the patient's pulse regains its stability and the team is motivated to do their best to assist him to mend the patient's heart.

The director calls Dr Yang and tells him to mess up the surgery so that Park Hoon cannot win this round.
Dr Yang agrees but nurse Min must have realized his intentions as she looks at him with doubtful eyes.

(Me: Darn! I hope that scoundrel Dr Yang doesn't do anything wrong....he doesn't deserve the title of a doctor anymore if he tries anything to harm the surgery... ><)

Argh...That bastard Dr Yang is really getting on my nerves with his dumb tricks to disturb Park Hoon during the surgery...
Fortunately, Park Hoon realizes what Dr Yang is trying to do and tells him to leave because he cannot tolerate it anymore.  Dr Yang leaves to be replaced by Dr Moon.
They finish stitching up the heart but suddenly the patient's pulse rate falls because the anesthesiologist is not doing his job well.  Park Hoon shouts at the anesthesiologist but the later replies that he is not specialized in heart anesthesiology...
Park Hoon looks around and notices Jae Hee coming in the surgery room to help them.

The surgery was completed successfully thanks to Park Hoon and Han Seung Hee.
Lol at the end of the surgery, Dr Moon asks Park Hoon is he would like to become his adopted son ^^
Park Hoon laughs and says ''I don't think my mother would be happy about it'' :)

Later Jae Hee scolds Hoon for getting involved in the surgery again...
Hoon replies that he doesn't want her to perform the operation (of the President) without him.

(Me: I still don't like Jae Hee...this must be the first time I dislike a female lead in a drama...it's already the 17th episode but I still dislike her.  In my opinion she was definitely asking too much from Hoon when she asked him not to come for the surgery...She was practically putting a patient's life at risk here... -___- )

Park Hoon tells Jae Hee that they can form a team together to operate on the President, and later they can find an opportunity to speak to the latter.  This way Han Jae Joon won't get involved in that conspiracy. Again Park Hoon asks Jae Hee to let him meet his mother.
However, Jae Hee still doesn't want Park Hoon to get involved in the President's surgery as she tells Mr Kim that she will do the surgery with Han Jae Joon and not with Park Hoon.

Jae Hee must have told Park Hoon where she hid his mother as Park Hoon goes to Chang Yi's place looking for his mom.
Hoon's omma still calls the plush bear her son.  She doesn't realize that Park Hoon is her son although he just called her mom.
Park Hoon tells her that he is Hoon but his mom tells him that her son is only 8 years old.
Park Hoon hugs his mom after telling her that he is sorry that he blamed her all this time without knowing that she was in this condition.

Later, Jang Suk Joo finally reveals to the Director that the heart on which they will be performing surgery is not his but the President's heart.  The Director then decides to hold another match between Park Hoon and Han Jae Joon since the last match was a tie.

However, Dr Moon notices that the patient assigned to Han Jae Joon necessitates only a minor surgery whereas Park Hoon's surgery is more difficult.
The Director informs them that this match will be judged based on time.
Despite Dr Moon's complaints about the unfairness of the match, the Director still refuses to make the match more equal because he definitely favours Han Jae Joon and wants him to win.
Despite the inequality, Park Hoon accepts the match.

Park Hoon decides to ask Han Jae Joon to step down from the competition but the latter's answer is a definite 'No'.

In their discussion, Park Hoon finds it peculiar that Han Jae Joon knows that his father went to North Korea when he himself has never talked about it to him.  Han Jae Joon tells Park Hoon that Lee Sung Hoon (it's actually Han Jae Joon's real name) is a friend of his from university who was betrayed by Park Cheol to follow his ambitions in N.Korea.

Park Hoon tells him that is friend is completely wrong because his father was tricked to go to N.Korea too stop a war by the Director Oh Joon Kyu and the Premier Jang Suk Joo.
However, Han Jae Joon does not believe him and says that he is lying.

Later Oh Soo Hyun just passes by Park Hoon ignoring him; but Park Hoon follows her and catches up to her.  Park Hoon tells her that firstly he is extremely sorry, secondly to forget about the story between their fathers because it is not her fault and thirdly he teases her again about her hair loss issue that he made up.
Soo Hyun tries to move away from Hoon but he continues to tease her and follow her saying that he wants to remain friends with her.

Soo Hyun meets with Jae Hee afterwards to have a private conversation with her.  Jae Hee reveals to Soo Hyun that she hid her real identity at the beginning because she felt unsure about herself.  In fact Jae Hee tells Soo Hyun that she knew that the kidney transplanted in her is her father's kidney.  She is also aware that Hoon performed the transplant to save her, but he also caused her father's death by doing so.

(Me: Jae Hee was aware if that all along then...)

Jae Hee tells Soo Hyun that this is the reason why she wasn't sure if she could continue loving him like she did before.

Soo Hyun tells Jae Hee that she is sure that Park Hoon loves her.  But Jae Hee replies that the feelings Hoon has for her might just be the guilt and obligation.  Jae Hee tells Soo Hyun that she especially feels this way when she sees Hoon and her together. Jae Hee also feels that Park Hoon likes Soo Hyun.

 (Me: What Jae Hee just told Soo Hyun really took me by surprise O_O because Jae Hee is confirming what I have been waiting for to happen; but had to give up on believing after watching the last few episodes.This means that there is still hope for Park Hoon and Soo Hyun to be together ^^ Yes!!)

Jae Hee continues telling Soo Hyun that Park Hoon likes her...not out of guilt or obligation, but he just likes her. ^^
Soo Hyun does't believe Jae Hee's words and tells her that she is wrong.

(Me:  I wonder if she is right or wrong...personally I hope that Hoon likes Soo Hyun over Jae Hee...but Hoons feelings are unpredictable in this drama...I'll just hope that he ends up happily with Soo Hyun and that Jae Hee's intuition was right.  I don't like Jae Hee because I think she is too dark of a character compared to Soo Hyun)

Park Hoon goes to see his mother at Chang Yi's place.  Hoon's mother starts to realize that Hoon is her son and gives him side dishes to eat.  Park Hoon feels really touched as his mother is starting to recognize him.

The next day at the hospital, Park Hoon is in a really good mood as he greets Soo Hyun by calling her Quack like he usually does.
Soo Hyun feels annoyed and tells him to stop calling her Quack because her patients might really think she is a quack.

Park Hoon meets Han Jae Joon's patient who is Kim Chi Gyu's cheerful younger sister Kim Ah Young.  She is reluctant to have the surgery because it might be difficult for her to have children afterwards.  However after viewing the ultrasound image of Ah Young's heart, Park Hoon notices that the surgery is not an urgent one.  He goes to see Han Jae Joon to put the surgery on hold until she is married and has kids.

Han Jae Joon refuses to put the surgery on hold and tells Park Hoon to switch patients if he wants to put the surgery on hold himself.  But Han Jae Joon knows that Park Hoon cannot afford to accept the switch because he will lose automatically if they substitute their patients.

However, just before the surgery begins, Kim Chi Gyu pleads Park Hoon to switch with Han Jae Joon so that his sister can get married and have kids just like she wanted.
Park Hoon thinks back to his father's last words: ''Please don't ever forget that you're a doctor.'' and his words to Jae Hee which were ''I'll win the last round with all I have''.

Park Hoon rushes to Han Jae Joon and stops him just before he was going to start the surgery.
Everyone watching is really surprised by Park Hoon's decision.
(Me:  This moment is really epic because Park Hoon is making a significant decision which is to give up the competition for the patient's welfare :) This is the right choice Park Hoon. I support you in making this decision.  By watching your actions, I think the President has realized that you are a good and trustworthy doctor as well, something that the Premier would never realize.  I think that in the end Park Hoon will be the one chosen to do the President's surgery.  Anyway I like the theme song playing right at that part of the drama...I'll have to look for it later ^^)
