Drama Review of Doctor Stranger Ep 2

The 2nd episode is pretty intense and full of suspense, packed with action scenes.
Warning: there are spoilers ahead, it's your choice to read or not.

My guess from my previous review was wrong, Park Hoon's father really dies from the gun shot and it's too late for Park Hoon to save him.

But still, I think the father's death was unnecessary...it is just unnecessarily tragic... (But if the drama is turning towards a revenge story then Hoon's father's death was somehow necessary..but it could have been done differently).  I mean he had a choice to escape the military camp alive but he chose to get caught and shot by the soldiers.

Anyway in this episode, Park Hoon tries his best to attempt an escape from the North Korean tyrants and obtain refuge with Jae Hee in the South Korean embassy in Budapest.  However his efforts are in vain as the tyrants catch up to them after their furious car-motorcycle chase (it's just like in a movie).

Trapped by the enemy, Jae Hee gets shot trying to protect Park Hoon.  Jae Hee falls over the bridge but Hoon takes hold of her hand, refusing to let her go.  Hoon even gets shot in the shoulder but does not let go of Jae Hee's hand despite the pain and bleeding from his wound.  All this time there a bodyguard who has been protecting Hoon from the enemy's gunshots.  That bodyguard is actually the one who works for the assembly man Jang Seok Joo who took all the merit from Park Hoon's father for saving South Korea from a North Korean nuclear bomb attack and left him to be killed in North Korea.

In my previous review I thought that Jae Hee would hate Hoon for saving her instead of her father and that they would eventually fall out of love for each other. But my guess was wrong, in fact this is a case of losing ones first love.  Jae Hee is definitely Park Hoon's first love.

Continuing with the part where Hoon is holding Jae Hee's hand, Jae Hee says her farewell to Hoon and pushes his hand away to fall into the water.  Leaving Hoon devastated from losing Jae Hee, Hoon tries to jump after her but is restrained by the police forces who finally reach the scene.  As most first love don't last, my intuition that their love story won't last was quite correct.

Afterwards we move on to 2 years later in Seoul...I wonder what became of Hoon after losing his father and his first love as well...what happened to him?!?!

Moving on with the drama, I see two more actors from City Hunter acting in this drama and there's Kang Sora too!! (Super Junior LeeTeuk's wifey in 'We got married') ^^
In this drama, Kang Sora is a doctor and forms part of a team of surgeons.
Great, but what's with all the fuss before starting the operation??  I find it annoying... It is better in the drama 'Emergency Couple' where the pace of surgeries is faster; actions and decisions are taken rapidly, there aren't any fuss about filming how the doctors dress up prior to the intervention...etc

The impression I have so far is that Park Hoon can probably handle on his own the same heart surgery that this team of surgeons is operating on.  I think that the character Park Hoon is a genius surgeon in this drama and I hope that the screenwriter/scriptwriter won't undermine his talent and skills.

Ok now we see Park Hoon again... -___- He just came out of a prison in Seoul...don't tell me he was sentenced to 2 years of prison...but I guess this is better than just living in despair having nowhere to go and having no idea where to go...
This situation somehow matches the character; at least in prison Hoon must have had some time to think it through and recover from the lost of his dear ones.  I hope he did not lose his skills though...
But seeing how he noticed that a little girl's finger was fractured just by holding it, it looks like he's still an excellent doctor ^^

Reaching part 5 of the episode 2, I realize I was wrong, Jae Hee survived ^^''  She's still alive after a gunshot and a fall into a river....  (This only happens in dramas...in reality people would not survive that)
Moreover, Park Hoon still loves her and has kept on searching for her although there was no certainty whether she was still alive...  I guess Park Hoon really loves Jae Hee and I was wrong that their story won't last...

In the next episode, I think that the Prime Minister of S.Korea i.e. Jang Seok Joo (the one who betrayed Hoon's father) will make a bargain with Hoon to operate his heart to save his life in exchange of bringing Jae Hee out of North Korea.

I'll keep on watching this drama, it's really not bad.  The story so far is good.

Ok see you for the next review :)
